Varun Elangovan, an associate of the Firm, focuses his practice on Global Securities Litigation. His experience includes pre-suit investigations with a specific focus on analyzing securities, antitrust, and consumer class action lawsuits. He also has experience litigating complex antitrust and consumer protection actions on behalf of individuals and businesses affected by anticompetitive practices, defective products, or improper business conduct.
In addition, Varun worked extensively on behalf of self-insured health plans in novel constitutional claims against the U.S. Government, challenging the requirement to contribute to the Affordable Care Act’s Transitional Reinsurance Program. He played a key role in the damages phase of the litigation, which resulted in a $169 million settlement—one of the largest ever obtained in cases brought before the Court of Federal Claims.
Varun received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his undergraduate degree from DePaul University. While at Georgetown Law, he served as an Executive Online Editor for The Georgetown Law Journal.
