Job Summary: 

A leading law firm is seeking an Investigator to join a dynamic team supporting litigation through witness identification, witness research, and witness interviews. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with at least 5 years of interview or related experience and a demonstrated proficiency in effective communication with unknown individuals.  Experience in telephonic interviews is a plus.

Essential Functions / Position Responsibilities: 

  • Work with a team of highly-trained Investigators identifying witnesses and conducting witness interviews in support of litigation.
  • Work across various mediums, using a number of tools, to research information and individuals to support the Firm’s litigation.
  • Manage large case load and Attorney requests in a dynamic, pressured, and constantly changing environment.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure full support of high priority requests and cases.

Qualifications

  • Education Requirements: BA/BS
  • Must have the ability to work from home (stable home internet connection)
  • Position related experience requirements:
    • Minimum of 5 years interview or interview related work experience with a demonstrated proficiency in interviewing or effective communication with unknown individuals.
    • Prior experience as an Investigator, Paralegal, Journalist or equivalent experience in a large law firm or office setting preferred.
    • The ideal candidate must possess a superior and diverse investigative skill set, including experience conducting interviews, and preparing reports or summaries documenting interviews or interactions.
    • The ideal candidate must be able to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment and possess team-player attributes.
    • Must have excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks.

Job Summary:

Jr. Paralegal works with a busy group of Attorneys and Paralegals. This role is an opportunity for entry level paralegals to be trained by skilled paralegals in complex litigation.

Responsibilities/Training Areas:

  • Interface with attorneys, legal assistants and other counsel.
  • Perform investigative Internet research
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of documents including, but not limited to, court pleadings and legal correspondence
  • Assist with trial preparation, as necessary
  • Draft legal documents and correspondence, and review and check all documents for accuracy and compliance with court rules
  • Conduct Bluebooking, heavy editing and proof-reading of documents
  • Provides administrative support including typing correspondence, maintaining attorney schedules, and maintaining legal databases. Organizes and maintains legal files and document review projects
  • Complete discreet research assignments using LEXIS and/or Westlaw

Qualifications

Job Description

Overview:

The Quality Control Monitor is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of defined processes regarding the identification, preparation, filing, and recording of securities class action settlement claims submitted for the Firm’s institutional investor clients participating in the Firm’s SecuritiesTrackerTM claims filing services.  In this role, the Quality Control Monitor will work with securities transaction data such as buys, sells, holdings of common stock and bonds to identify claimants that meet the criteria for submitting claims and utilize this information to perform quality checks on work performed by Claims Team Analysts.  The Quality Control Monitor will also provide tracking and reporting on the completion of claims filing related processes.

Essential Functions / Position Responsibilities:

  • Track progress of procedural steps across simultaneous claims filings to ensure all work performed by the Claims Team meets internal and external deadlines
  • Perform quality checks of the work performed by the Claims Team to ensure the accurate submission of securities class action claims; Identify and notify Team Lead and Manager of discrepancies
  • Maintain detailed records of process activities, including completion dates, quality checks and process exceptions.
  • Prepare and provide status reporting to supervisor, and escalate issues per procedure or as otherwise appropriate to resolve
  • Review universe of open filings across multiple sources; Identify and notify Manager of any discrepancies among lists
  • Perform securities research and database queries to identify clients’ investment transactions and holdings relevant for preparing claims
  • Analyze clients’ transactions and/or holdings to determine universe of claimants that meet the parameters to file claims
  • Crosscheck information across various sources to ensure all process exceptions are accounted for and universe of claimants identified by the Claims Team for each settlement is complete and accurate
  • Coordinate with related teams regarding ongoing support to keep claims in good standing, as needed
  • Support staff, peers, and management with timely responses to inquiries or requests for assistance
  • Expand scope of Quality Control and Reporting duties to cover additional phases of the claims and/or payments process, as needs arise.
  • Complete ad hoc projects and assist team with claims preparation and/or communication with claims administrators, as needed

Qualifications

Education Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a business or analytical discipline (Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Math)
  • Must have the ability to work from home (stable home internet connection) 

 Position related experience requirements & skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience, prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong work ethic

  • Must be able to reprioritize and plan ahead to meet deadlines
