Job Description

The HR Coordinator will support all functions of a busy HR Department, with a focus on maintaining the Firm’s HRIS and internal employee reporting functions.

Essential Functions / Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as point of contact for HRIS troubleshooting, coordinate carrier connections with 401K and benefit vendors
  • Onboarding/offboarding: collect all new/termed employee information and populate necessary reporting systems (HRIS, Background Check/e-verify administrator, internal reports, etc.)
  • Payroll: assist employees with timecard errors, check hourly employee timecards for accuracy, report any issues, make back-end changes as necessary (i.e. input partial pays, bonuses, new rates) and create payroll preview; assist with processing pay through ADP Netherlands; draft annual employee compensation summary sheets
  • PTO: Track PTO, input backend adjustments, approve requests as needed, elevate issues to managers, update allowances per Firm policy
  • Reporting: Pull reports as needed from HRIS/vendor websites to assist in audits, gather RFP data, overtime report, EEO1, CA Pay Data Report, biweekly and annual payroll reports, census reports for benefit vendors, COBRA reporting, and ad hoc reporting as needed
  • Send alerts through applicant tracking system (ATS) and coordinate full HRIS and career page connection
  • Benefits: Input open enrollment adjustments to HRIS, input status changes, complete employer section for leave forms, collect executed forms, track employee leaves
  • Maintain employee files
  • Assist the HR Department as needed with firm events, CLE management, administrative projects, etc.

Qualifications

Job Specifications:

  • Must have the ability to work from home (stable home internet connection)
  • Bachelor's degree required, coursework in HR or business preferred
  • 0-4 years of administrative experience required. Human Resources experience preferred
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office required, especially Excel and Outlook
  • HRIS experience (ADP specifically) preferred
  • Must have a very strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Must have the ability to handle highly confidential information in a sensitive manner
  • Must have project management skills- the ability to see a project through from start to finish
  • Professionalism, excellent communication skills, and strong problem solving skills required
  • Must have the willingness and ability to work overtime when necessary

Candidate must have at least a paralegal certificate and 5+ yrs. of paralegal experience for consideration.

Responsibilities:

• Interface with attorneys, legal assistants and other counsel.

• Perform investigative Internet research

• Assist in the preparation and filing of documents including, but not limited to, court pleadings and legal correspondence

• Assist with trial preparation, as necessary

• Draft legal documents and correspondence, and review and check all documents for accuracy and compliance with court rules

• Conduct Bluebooking, fact and cite checking, editing and proof-reading

• Complete discreet research assignments using LEXIS and/or Westlaw

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (experience will be considered in lieu of education)
  • Paralegal Certificate or Certified through NALA or NFPA
  • Minimum of 5 years of paralegal level work required
